Vitanica was founded by Dr Tori Hudson over 27 years ago, and is based and operated out of Portland, Oregon. Dr Hudson is a Naturopathic Physician, specialising in women's health care for over 37 years, and she formulates all the products in the range.
When she founded her company, Dr Hudson felt there was a lack of readily available, high quality, effective, and affordable nutritional herbal supplements specifically formulated for women's issues. She wanted to create her own products to share directly with her patients and to offer in health foods stores, so women could have affordable and reliable natural health care options easily available to them.
Dr Hudson is also the Medical Director at her Portland clinic, A Woman's Time, where she works with several of her talented colleagues. She is also a clinical professor at the National College of Naturopathic Medicine, in Portland, and Bastyr University, in Washington.
She has devoted her life to research, education, and her clinical work in the interest of helping women to better health. Dr Hudson lectures nationwide at professional conferences and provides product training for retailers. This includes Canadian professional associations and their continuing educational events in Vancouver, Toronto, and Niagara Falls, with a focus on educating practitioners in areas of women's health and natural medicine.
Her book, Women's Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine -now in its second edition- is regarded as a primary reference for women's health care and alternative medicine by both health care professionals and those seeking self-help information.
Dr Hudson is also a regular contributing author to numerous articles, including the Townsend Letter and several natural health publications. She bases her formulations on three aspects: her clinical experience, ongoing scientific research, and the time-honoured tradition of natural medicine.
