Zinc Carnosine by Seeking Health provides over 16 mg of zinc (from 75 mg zinc L-carnosine) per vegetarian capsule. Zinc L-carnosine complex is a unique form of zinc that may provide natural support for the gastrointestinal system and intestinal mucosal lining. Compromise of this mucosal barrier may lead to bacterial invasions, increased diffusion of toxic substances into tissues, impairment of digestive and absorptive functions, pain, and other potentially harmful effects. Zinc is essential for healthy functioning of more than 100 enzymes in the human body, and helps promote cell growth, supports the immune system, and aids in wound repair. Zinc in proper dosages can support children's health especially their immune systems.

The mucosal lining of the gastrointestinal tract provides protection against invasive microbes, environmental toxins and allergens, and the erosive effects of bile and stomach acid. The combination of zinc and L-carnosine may be uniquely beneficial for healthy cells in the mucosal lining, and these nutrients may work together to support the body’s natural protective and repair mechanisms in the gastrointestinal tract.
Zinc is an important mineral that may help support many enzymatic and structural functions in the human body. It is also important for healthy cellular metabolism, immune health, and healthy cell membranes, including cells in the intestinal tract. Carnosine is an amino acid, primarily obtained from meat and animal sources in the diet. Individuals adhering to a vegetarian or vegan diet may have lower carnosine levels than their meat-consuming counterparts. Carnosine is a naturally occurring component of muscle and brain tissues. The combination of these nutrients as zinc L-carnosine provides unique support for the stomach and intestinal lining, and general digestive health.
